2019 OC-Centric New Play Festival

Allison Bergman
Director of Beethoven and Misfortune Cookies

Favorite stage directing credits include THE ELEPHANT MAN, SEMINAR, ARCADIA, ARABIAN NIGHTS, URINETOWN, DANCING AT LUGHNASA, DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS, DADDY’S DYIN’ WHO’S GOT THE WILL, THERE GOES THE BRIDE, THE HEIDI CHRONICLES, DRIVING MISS DAISY, THE ROAR OF THE GREASEPAINT, BARNUM, THE LAST NIGHT OF BALLYHOO and SWEENEY TODD. Also, many premiere productions and development workshops in NYC and LA. Other projects include dramaturgy with Play Café and Musical Café, a guest artist with Ragged Wing Ensemble, and directing her first feature-length film. She is thrilled to be returning to Southern California where she is currently in pre-production on a short film, and developing new projects with Moving Arts. Allison is also a performance coach and former Head of Performance at North Carolina State University. Her book ACTING THE SONG is used in musical theatre training programs as a textbook and a teacher’s guide. She is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, Boston University, L.A. City College Theatre Academy, and Directors Lab West. She has been honored with a Drama-Logue Award, and named Women In Theatre’s Outstanding Woman In Theatre. 

Roe Moore
Director of Still Moving

 

A well-rounded creative entrepreneur, Roe has worked in front of and behind the camera in various positions on notable movies, television, and commercials. In getting her feet wet in theater, she has directed 2Cents Theatre's Inkfest plays MIRROR, MIRROR and EAST STANTON STATION, and RECESS for Brisk New Plays Festival. Directing for the OC-Centric Orange County's New Play Festival is an honor and a great pleasure. When she's not on set, she's training for her next half-marathon and her opportunity to be the next America Ninja Warrior.

Katie Chidester
Director of Thump In The Night

 

Katie Chidester is a multidisciplinary artist dedicated to supporting and exploring new and original work. She is honored to have directed two works with OC-Centric previously: Crimson by Sarah Saenz (2017), and Joey and Mare by Buddy Farmer (2018). Katie is co-Founding Artistic Director of Project La Femme, a local arts and performance collective with a mission to amplify marginalized and underrepresented voices. Our Page to Stage Playwrights Festival featuring female playwrights opens August 30, 2019 at the Curtis Theater in Brea. B.A. – USC; M.F.A. – UNCG.
