Angela Cruz
Director of "Allegory of The Cave"

Angela Cruz has returned to OC-Centric for a third time. She is a graduate of UC Santa Barbara, with a B.A. in Theater with a concentration in Directing. Recent directing credits include: Celtic Knot (OC-Centric 2017), Izzy McGizzy’s One Night Only One Man Musical (Chance Theater); Adan and Eva y La Orta, (Teatro de las Americas), Love's Lost Words (OC-Centric 2016), Ni Una Mas by Angela & Company (UCSB); Food for the Dead (CASA 0101); Somebody’s Children and 9ine Digits Away From My Dream (Breath Of Fire Latina Theater Ensemble); Soldado Razo (FC Directors Fest, Winner Best of Fest 2004). Angela would like to thank her love Christian for always encouraging her craft and all her gente who support live theatre. Angela hopes you enjoy Allegory of the Cave. 

Reed Flores
Director of "A Girl Smiles In The Arctic"

 

Reed Flores is excited to make his debut in the 2018 OC-Centric New Play Festival as a director! A proud CSUF directing alumni, Reed has also directed at Grand Central Art Center and Long Beach Playhouse. Recent credits include: The Twentieth Century Way, Cabaret, Savage in Limbo, F.O.B, and The Drowsy Chaperone. Reed would like to thank, Playwright Cambria Denim for this beautiful show, and to his cast, team, and Tamiko and Eric for this opportunity! 

Katie Chidester
Director of "Joey & Mare"

 

Katie Chidester is a multidisciplinary artist dedicated to supporting and exploring new and original work. Recent new work credits My Life in Two Acts by Tina Burkhalter (The Wayward Artist), We Will Not Describe the Conversation by Eugenie Carabatsos (STAGEStheatre), Some Simple Kindness by Anne Grob (New Voices Playwrights), Project #WomenGetLoud for International Women’s Day 2018. She produced, directed, dramaturged and acted in numerous plays over the course of 12 seasons with the Hunger Artists Theatre Co. Other theaters include Triad Stage, Long Beach Playhouse, The Garage, Son of Semele, and The Lounge in Hollywood. Katie is co-Founding Artistic Director of Project La Femme, a local arts and performance collective with a mission to amplify marginalized and underrepresented voices. BA – USC; MFA – UNCG. Michael Serna
Director of "The Mulberry Bush"

 

Michael Serna (Director) is the Artistic Director for Costa Mesa Playhouse and has directed for numerous theatres throughout Southern California.  Recent credits include: The Christians, Dinner with Friends, Night Moths on the Wing (West Coast Premiere), A Behanding in Spokane, God of Carnage (Orange County Premiere), Anna in the Tropics, Proof, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, True West, Odd Couple, Big River, subUrbia, Of Mice and Men, The Diary of Anne Frank, Compleat Wrks of Shakespeare (abridged), The Good Doctor, The Exploded View (World Premiere) and CHARGE (West Coast Premiere). Michael was the proud recipient of an OC Weekly Award for Best Direction and was named Orange County Man of Year by the Los Angeles Times for 2016.  MFA from Cal State University Fullerton, BA from UNLV.
