Here is the talented roster of directors from the
2016 OC-Centric New Play Festival
Travis Donnelly
Director of "Love All"
Travis is excited to be working with OC-Centric for the first time on this premiere. Recent credits include Anne of Green Gables and Where You Can’t Follow at Chance Theater, and Rough Magic and Much Ado About Nothing at the Young Theatre. Recently, Travis has been involved in new play development as an assistant director at South Coast Repertory on the world premieres of Rest (Samuel D. Hunter) and Zealot (Theresa Rebeck), and assist directing last Spring at Oregon Shakespeare Festival on their production of Long Day’s Journey into Night. Alumnus of Crafton Hills College and Los Angeles City College’s Theatre Academy, Travis received his BA from UCLA’s school of Theatre, Film, and Television, and completed his MFA at California State University, Fullerton. The founding Artistic Director of Cal State Fullerton’s BA Showcase and Serial Killers at Chance Theater, Travis currently serves on the advisory board to Evolve Theatre.
Michael Serna
Director of "Night Moths On The Wing"
Michael is excited to be Directing for the OC-centric Theatre Festival. The majority of his work over the past few years has been seen on Orange County stages. Recent productions include: A Behanding in Spokane, God of Carnage (Daily Pilot production of the year), Anna in the Tropics, Proof, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, True West, Odd Couple, Big River, subUrbia, Of Mice and Men, The Diary of Anne Frank and An Act of the Imagination. A sometime actor and frequent set designer, Michael was the proud recipient of an OC Weekly Award for Best Direction (back when they used to give those out). He hold degrees from University of Nevada Las Vegas (BA) and Cal State University Fullerton (MFA).
Tamiko Washington
Director of "Kill A Better Mousetrap"
Tamiko Washington is also the artistic director and founder of OC-centric. An Associate Professor of Theatre at Chapman University, she has an MFA in Acting from UCI and is considered the originator of American Noh Theatre. Tamiko has acted at South Coast Repertory, the Old Globe Theatre, the L.A. Women’s Shakespeare Company and Shakespeare Orange County. Her TV credits include co-starring and guest artist roles in Pensacola, Silk Stalkings and two Lifetime films, Two Small Voices and Kidnapped. In 2009, as a member of the Los Angeles Women’s Shakespeare Company, she was honored, with the company, in receiving the Margaret Hartford Award for sustained excellence in theatre. In 2005, she received a Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival Award for Excellence in Education for her work at Chapman University. Tamiko is also artistic director of Actors Circle Ensemble and directed ACE’s productions of Experiment (Hollywood Fringe, South Coast Repertory’s SCRamble series) and A Night of Noh Theatre (Hollywood Fringe).
Clayton Guiltner
Director of "Left Behind,Waiting"
Clayton Guiltner is a producer, director, and acting coach, and is the Producing Artistic Director for The Grex Group Theatre in New York City and GrexGroupLA in Los Angeles, and is a lifetime member of the Directors Unit of the renowned Actors Studio. Clayton holds a Master of Fine Arts in Directing, a Master of Arts degree in Leadership, and a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and is an associate member of The Stage Directors and Choreographers Society.
