The Place To Be In OC For New Plays

When Chapman University professor Tamiko Washington started OC-centric, she envisioned it as a perennial celebration of new plays from Orange County - a destination theatre event bringing Chapman's exceptional theatre majors together with actors and directors working in the LA and OC theatre scenes. Three years later, OC-centric has established itself - garnering media attention from the OC WEEKLY, Orange County Register and other media outlets, drawing capacity audiences to the Moulton Center Studio Theatre and Chapman University.

Our lineup this year is eclectic and even more outstanding. We have a pair of full-length works (Skirt and The God-Shaped Hole) and a pair of one-acts (The Sound of Silence and Les Hollywood Hills) that could be produced anywhere to acclaim, and we are happy to premiere all four this August. These are great days for Orange County playwriting. Some remarkable work is emerging, along with a wave of playwrights American theatre should quickly get to know. Join us this August - we know you'll be impressed!
